UMA ANÁLISE SOBRE A PERSEGUIÇÃO, OS DESAFIOS E A RESISTÊNCIA NEGRA NO CONTEXTO DA DITADURA MILITAR

This study aims to understand how racism was instrumentalized by the repression of the Military Dictatorship against black militants who opposed the regime. Thus, it analyzed how black activists were targeted by the Military Regime for racial issues disguised as a fight against communist ideas. This repression can be measured in the differentiation of the status attributed to black activists by the Military Regime and which was problematized in the Truth Commissions, established at the federal and state levels in the 1920s. Finally, it seeks to investigate the nuances surrounding the emergence of the Unified Black Movement as a means of resistance to the Military Regime and its contributions to the anti-racist struggle. Regarding methodology, this study used a qualitative approach, bibliographical, and historical-documentary research, using the content analysis technique. Among the results, we highlight reflections on the repression of black activists by the Military Dictatorship, with emphasis on the attribution of the status of common prisoner, instead of political prisoner. In this sense, we emphasize the contributions of the Truth Commissions to the elucidation of such issues. As well as the importance of the Unified Black Movement, created during the Military Dictatorship, in the political resistance to the then regime and its actions until the present day in the anti-racist struggle.
